• Hands-on technical management of an expanding team in California, Colorado, and Bangalore, India. 7 people total.
• Partner with application processor vendors to provide development and integration platforms and integrate Audience IC’s into those platforms.
• Design, test, and integrate Linux application processor device drivers.
• Coordinate early adopter customer integration of new audio ICs into Android based mobile devices.
• Travel to customer locations to help them integrate Audience devices into their systems.
• Keep up to date on Android and Linux community and keep company abreast of important developments.
• Manage and track schedules and communicate risks and priorities
• 3+ years experience in engineering management.
• 10+ years experience in embedded software development.
• 3+ years experience in embedded Linux application processor device driver development.
• 3+ years Android system integration.
• Strong C programming skills.
• Strong in software development for real-time embedded systems.
• Strong in system architecture.
• Experience writing device drivers for audio codecs.
• Experience using Advance Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA).
• Familiarity with standard digital audio serial interfaces.
• Proven ability to effectively work with customers on software integration.
• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Establishes operational objectives
• Implements strategic policies, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements
• Requires acumen in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship
• Regularly interacts with senior management, or executive levels on matters concerning areas, divisions, or customers
• Involved in developing, modifying and executing company polices that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect.
• Ability to use lab equipment for test and debug of audio systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good team player with strong initiative.
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
Desired Skillset and Experience
• Experience in Android programming and Android audio framework.
• Exposure to cellular wireless industry.
• Audio expertise including audio codecs.
• Experience with SLIMbus.
